COUNTY TEAMS
A recent poll asking clubs to decide on whether the County should run with either one team or two teams has been finalised.
A disappointing 40 out of 91 clubs returned their voting papers with a narrow result , 21-19, in favour of retaining two teams.
The share of the vote was as follows :-
West Clubs ...17 clubs ( 39% ) out of 44 returning votes
2-teams 12 votes (71%) 1-team 5 votes (29%)
East Clubs ..... 23 clubs ( 49% ) out of 47 returning votes
2-teams 9 votes ( 39% ) 1-team 14 votes ( 61% )
The Association will run and continue to run with 2 teams next year and for the foreseeable future.
However the AHT is being looked at by a Bowls Scotland Working Group This will consist of :-
2 County Secretaries ... W Close(Stirling County) & J Dalziel(Dumbartonshire)
2 Ex-County Secretaries ... M Wilson(West Lothian) & D Nivison(Dumfriesshire)
M Nevill .... Bowls Scotland District 3 Secretary & Ex-County Secretary(Aberdeen & Kincardine)
R Christie....Bowls Scotland Director & District 4 Secretary Plus A Davidson Director Championship and Events
The working group wish to hear the thoughts of players, officials and County Associations on making the competition more inventive and attractive to all players and potential sponsors.

Glasgow PRESIDENT BADGE 2012
Bowls Scotland decided not to issue badges to club Presidents from 2011.
These badges indicated the year the club President was in office. Presidents were honoured to received them since it recognised their special year.
The Association decided that their Presidents should continue to receive this memento of their presidency. Consequently a badge has been ordered, received and is now ready for issue to club Presidents.
Badges will either be posted to clubs or hand delivered by GBA Directors. Most badges will be presented at club opening days.

This competition will now be played on the 2nd Saturday in August

GLASGOW COUNTY TEAMS
The Directors of the Association have decided to change the structure of its County teams
in an effort to improve their performance and position among the top Counties in Scotland.
It has been decided that two new teams, Glasgow East and Glasgow West, will be formed.
The 'EAST' team will consist of players drawn from clubs in North East and South East Districts.
The 'WEST' team will consist of players drawn from clubs in North West and South West Districts.
Team selectors will comprise of the GBA Directors in those areas. This will enable selecors to identify
potential County players within their own areas.
